Little Rock, Arkansas (pop. 193,000) Progressive, collaborative and skilled leaders sought as candidates to serve as the next CEO for a large wastewater utility operation serving the residents and businesses of Little Rock, Arkansas.  The Little Rock Wastewater Utility (LRW) is comprised of 203 full time employees and has an annual operating and maintenance budget of $25 million and a 2013 capital budget of $17 million.   The LRW serves 67,000 users and maintains 1300 miles of public sewers.  The LRW has three plants -- the Adams Field Facility (36 MGD); the Fourche Creek Wastewater Facility,  a secondary treatment plant (16MGD); and the third and newest facility, the Little Maumelle Wastewater Treatment Facility, a state of the art facility which became operational in 2011.  The CEO reports to the Little Rock Sanitary Sewer Committee which is appointed by the City of Little Rock Board of Directors.   The City of Little Rock is located near the geographic center of the state and serves as the state capital.  A picturesque community with a small town feel, Little Rock is near the Ouachita Mountain Range, Pinnacle State Park and several beautiful lakes and streams.  Outdoor recreational options are almost unlimited given Little Rock’s moderate climate and considerable natural resources  The LRW is seeking a leader with high integrity, well developed interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion to manage and lead in a transparent, collaborative environment.  The next CEO must be able to effectively represent the LRW to its customers, city and state officials, and other community leaders.  The next CEO must have the ability to build and maintain productive, effective and respectful  working relationships with all of the LRW stakeholders.  The LRW has a highly professional and dedicated senior staff who work in a team oriented environment.  The next CEO will be expected to have demonstrable experience in strategic planning with respect to the financing of infrastructure improvements and a focus on utilizing best practices in the funding and delivery of wastewater services.  Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree preferably in civil engineering, environmental engineering or a related field.   An MBA, MPA or P.E. designation desirableCandidates must have 5-7 years experience in an executive level position in a wastewater organization or similar entity.   Salary is $180,000+/- DOQ.
